I finally got around to the 2nd Ghost of Winter thriller. Man did I miss these characters. This time we get to see more of Tiger (Captain Winter's love interest) and his bud, Rusty. Sgt Ghost Querious is still around (and one of favorite characters. Would love to read a novel or even a novella about just one of his adventures). These Ghost of Winter stories are right up my alley: Special Forces and action thrillers! One reviewer mentioned something about the choice of weapons, but I thought the author did a good job. It was detailed enough for me: not too simple, but he also did not spend 5 pages or more going into very minute details about the weapons and tactics.

Having Tiger (Lt) around certainly added to the storyline. This guy is either fearless or nuts, or maybe a combination of both. Tons of action! I ate it up. But now that I am done, where in the world is Book 3? I want to read more about Bravo 7 (and more about SEAL TEAM 6 as well). Band on the Run indeed.

Why 4-stars? 5-stars for the story itself. But, several times I ran across words correctly spelled, but in the wrong places. When these occurred I had to stop reading and go back over the last sentence to try to determine what the correct word should have been, and I am not talking about the author using British spelling of words. I could follow along with that. After all, this is a story about the British SAS. Make your editor work a little harder next time. Bring this series BACK to 5-stars!

Great story continues. Almost read it in one sitting. Can't wait for the next book in the series.
This is a great sequel to the first book. You learn more of the characters back story's and I feel like I'm right along side of the in their battles. I look forward to reading the third book.
Great read as to women in the service and towards the SAS. It may be enevitable, but these books show there are weakneses and strenghths between women in front line forces.
Could not put book down. Can not wait for book 3 to come out. David hansen kept me hooked all night

Over all this book was a good read, while it wasn't deep it was perfect for what it was, a laid back thriller. The only real tie in that "Ghost of Winter" has with the COD series is the usage of the carachter Ghost (the silent specter from the COD Modern Warfare 2 and 3 games) If you are looking for a back story, or a different point of view for the Call of Duty series, this is probably not it. If you are looking for a good millitary twinkie to read this is probably a good book for you. I rented the first one on kindle, bought the second, and I am willing to give the next book in the series a try.
I haven't read much about SAS but found I enjoyed the first two books. Great characters, realistic situations, well written action sequences. Awaiting book three.
This is the sequel to Ghosts of Winter obviously, but the writing and action pick up much better in this book. The bond between the characters was well written, the action really doesn't end, and the SAS research done was...non-existant. This book could have been about any military unit not just SAS. I think SAS got slapped on the title to make it special. The action is wholly epic. Unbelievable outcomes. Still though a good read. Its not really researched that well ( they use M4's and not 416's. Ghost uses the L96 and not the L115 or the L123W?) Minor details but a good read and enjoyable.
